Technologies Overview
SurModics has a broad array of technologies, centered on enhancing the functionality and performance of medical devices, drugs, and diagnostics. Our core technology offerings are divided into three segments: Drug Delivery technologies (coatings, microparticles, and implants); Surface Modification coating technologies that impart lubricity, prohealing, and biocompatibility capabilities; and In Vitro technologies that provide components for in vitro diagnostic test kits and specialized surfaces for cell culture and microarrays.
SurModics’ technologies are utilized by our customers to either alter the characteristics of the surfaces of devices and biological materials, or to enable drug delivery of a range of small-to-large molecules. Our key therapeutic focus areas are cardiovascular disease, ophthalmology and orthopedics.
